If you’re new to unique camping experiences through Harvest Hosts, you’re in for a treat! Across the United States and Canada, classic Harvest Hosts members can choose from more than 4,400 Harvest Host sites, some with unique experiences.

For example, Serenity Vineyards in California offers campers the opportunity to mingle with llamas on a llama farm. At Crooked Run Orchard in Vermont, you can pick peaches from a family-owned orchard and enjoy homemade cider. While camping at Bella Grace Vineyards in California’s Shenandoah Valley, you can explore the estate, learn about the winemaking process and indulge in wine tasting.

In short, Harvest Hosts is a special program that allows RV, van and tent campers to stay overnight at unique and exciting locations like wineries, breweries, farms, and more, instead of regular campsites. It was founded in 2010.

Imagine you’re an avid RV camper who loves exploring new places. You sign up for a Harvest Hosts classic membership for $99 a year. That same summer, you and a friend plan a road trip with your RV across the United States. Instead of staying at ordinary campsites, you decide to try a complementary location from Harvest Hosts for the first time.

You choose a winery listed on the Harvest Hosts website and call the host to plan your free stay. When you arrive at the vineyard the host, Mr. Marino, greets you and shows you a picturesque spot in the vineyard where you park your RV. As the sun sets, you see rows of grapevines stretching into the horizon. That evening you taste some wine and learn about the vineyard’s history and winemaking process.

The next morning you purchase a few bottles of your favorite wine to take with. Mr. Marino bids you and your friend farewell, and you leave the vineyard with memories of a unique camping adventure. Next, you drive five hours to your next Harvests Hosts site — an Alpaca ranch. You pet some Alpacas and leave the next morning with a pair of Alpaca wool socks as you continue your road trip.

With Harvest Hosts, campers (like the fictitious camper above) can spend the night at exciting places that foster unforgettable experiences while supporting local businesses along the way.

It’s like camping with a twist. You get to enjoy extraordinary locations, meet passionate hosts, and make beautiful memories on your camping journey.

    How Harvest Hosts Works

On the Harvest Hosts website, you can choose a Harvest Hosts membership that works best for you. Levels range from $99 to $179 per year. Once you’re a member, you gain access to a treasure trove of locations where you can camp.

The overnight stays at Harvest Hosts locations are free for members. However, while the camping accommodations are complimentary, members are encouraged to support the host business by purchasing their products, such as wine, beer, or farm-fresh produce, or by participating in the experiences or activities they offer.

It’s also customary to contact your hosts in advance to check on availability, especially during peak travel seasons.

As you immerse yourself in the local culture and charm, you can interact with passionate hosts who are eager to share their knowledge and expertise with you.

While Harvest Hosts locations are primarily geared towards RVs, many hosts welcome tent campers. So whether you’re a seasoned RV enthusiast, a van lifer on a quest for freedom, or a tent camper seeking unique experiences, Harvest Hosts has something for everyone.
