    ICEdot Launches Emergency Trigger

Notification system sends a text message to emergency contacts and easily mounts to a helmet chin strap or wristband.

Last year ICEdot introduced its Crash Sensor, an innovative, emergency identification and notification system that mounts to a bike or ski helmet. Today ICEdot introduces the Emergency Trigger, a product that can be used alone or in conjunction with the Crash Sensor to provide an added level of safety.

“This is a product that our customers asked for,” states ICEdot CEO, Chris Zenthoefer. “In addition to our crash sensor, which automatically sends an emergency message when it detects an impact to a helmet, users wanted the ability to manually send a message. Our customers also enjoy our tracking features allowing their contacts to check in on them via SMS. With this product we’ve combined those two efforts into a small, lightweight and simple trigger that can be mounted just about anywhere. It also is our first product that allows a user to action before an accident.”

The Emergency Trigger easily mounts to a helmet chin strap or a wristband and with the push of a single button allows the user to send an SMS text message to a set list of emergency contacts with a link to the user’s location as proactive check-in feature. Holding the button down for two seconds or more will sound an alarm and send an emergency notification asking to send help.

The Emergency Trigger is ideal for runners, paddlers, climbers and just about any other outdoor sports enthusiast. The Trigger will be available in March 2015.
