Hillsound Equipment—the leading producer of winter and fishing traction equipment and gaiters for urban and outdoor enthusiasts—has announced its sponsorship of North Shore Rescue (NSR) for a third winter. The mountain search and rescue team based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada consists of approximately 40 volunteers skilled in search and rescue operations in mountain, canyon, and urban settings. Hillsound supplies NSR with its Trail Crampon and Super Armadillo Gaiters products.

“NSR is a staple of back and front country safety for the region,” said Marketing Manager Jessica Greinke. “These dedicated volunteers perform about 90 search and rescue operations annually, providing an extremely valuable service that often goes unrecognized. NSR’s mission is to establish an organization to search for, rescue, and assist persons in distress, provide SAR education, assist other organizations with similar purposes, provide assistance to civil authorities, and provide advice and expertise. The team’s services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. NSR has existed for 50 years, making it one of the oldest SAR teams in Canada. Throughout its history, the organization has been involved in more than 2,500 search and rescue operations, volunteering over 200,000 hours of effort.
