Over the weekend, three new world records were set at the ninth annual Surf Dog Competition held at Imperial Beach in San Diego, California. The competition, which was sponsored by Petco, was organized into three separate heats for small, medium, and large dogs.
The new records include most dogs on a surfboard with 14. First place went to Hanzo, a boxer in the large dog category. “He loves what he does, and people really see that he really loves to surf,” Hanzo’s owner, Eric Felland, told The Guardian.
In addition to showcasing the skills of each dog, the event also hosted a dog adoption, with all proceeds benefiting the San Diego Humane Society.
