The series finale of Viva Peñoles features Daniel Woods making the first ascent of a V15 in Mexico. Located in the middle of the desert, the climber describes the boulder as something he’s pictured in both his dreams and his nightmares.

The ascent is anything but easy, as temperatures are too high to make climbing during the day possible. He finally completes the route after spending days on it, but not before fellow climber Dave Graham pops his tendon on it.

In the end, Woods succeeded and fittingly named the line “El Diablo.”
