President of RockyMounts, Inc., Joins COMBA Board of Directors

Cycling advocate and industry leader puts bike beliefs into action as newest member of IMBA Colorado chapter’s board of directors.

Bruno Maier—president of RockyMounts, the innovative Boulder based car-rack systems manufacturer—recently joined the Colorado Mountain Bike Association board of directors. COMBA is the Colorado chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association.

“I was both honored and excited to join the COMBA board because I believe that investing in bicycle advocacy is the most effective way to get more people on bikes,” said Bruno Maier, President of RockyMounts, Inc. “Bikes have been a hugely influential part of my life as long as I can remember, and have given me so much both personally and professionally. I feel like this is an excellent opportunity to give something back and solidify my—and RockyMounts’—commitment to two wheels.”

Maier counts to his credit more than two decades of experience in the bike industry. Before taking the reigns of RockyMounts, he was the senior vice president of the non-profit PeopleForBikes. RockyMounts founder Bobby Noyes, also an avid rider, is known locally for his support of cycling, most notably being instrumental in building community support for Boulder’s Valmont Bike Park.

“I want to ensure RockyMounts continues that tradition of bike advocacy,” said Maier.

COMBA’s aims include improving the climate for mountain biking in Colorado through development and preservation, often with shovels in hand sculpting singletrack, or speaking on behalf of mountain bikers in the state’s capitol.

“COMBA is excited to have Bruno join our board of directors,” said Kristy Kibler, president of the Colorado Mountain Biking Association. “He brings a wealth of experience and depth of knowledge to the board. I am confident Bruno will be a leader in bringing better mountain biking to Colorado.”
