Gregory’s Fall 2013 Line Includes New Snow and Commuter Packs

Gregory debuts its first full line of ski packs.

Gregory Mountain Products, the leading pack and luggage maker for over 35 years, expands its line for Fall 2013 by introducing a new line of versatile commuter packs, as well as a completely redesigned Targhee alpine pack for backcountry skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers.

“Our Targhee backpack had a loyal following, but we went back to the drawing board to really meet the needs of the modern winter backcountry enthusiast,” states John Sears, director of product development at Gregory. “We took the classic Gregory fit that our customers have grown to rely on and applied it to the complex demands of winter activities. Access to safety tools and a backpack that fits properly are paramount in the backcountry and we’ve exceeded both of those design goals.”

The new Targhee is built around a new Vertflex suspension system created exclusively to provide a stable and comfortable load transfer while maintaining the torsional flexibility necessary to accommodate the dynamic movements of skiing and riding. Skis can be carried in an A-frame configuration that accommodates ski tails up to 130mm, or diagonally with a stowable carry system that features cam-lock attachment system for total gear security. The Targhee carries a snowboard or snowshoes with Hypalon-reinforced webbing and compression straps to ensure a durable and secure fit. The series includes a dual ice axe carry system for efficient carry of axes and tools when the way up gets more technical. Anodized aluminum hardware is incorporated on critical axe and ski carry attachment points for ultimate backcountry durability and cold weather performance. From a safety standpoint, the Targhee offers quick access to a dedicated avalanche safety gear pocket that fits a shovel, probe, snow saw and more, no matter how equipment is configured on the outside. Stowable helmet carry, an insulated hydration sleeve and full zip rear panel access to the main compartment round out the feature set. This series is all about carrying comfort with access to needed gear from all angles. The Targhee will be available on July 1 in 18, 26, 32 and 45 liter versions with prices ranging from $119 to $199.

Like the Targhee, Gregory’s new Aspect commuter pack series combines rugged functionality with versatility in a clean, contemporary design. The Sketch™ is a simple and modern backpack that is as at-home on the trail as it is on the way to work, the gym or a concert in the park. Available in 15, 18, 22, 25, and 28L volumes, the Sketch packs feature Gregory’s famous fit with a premium, anatomically curved back panel rarely found in day packs. Made from ultra-durable 420D nylon and 840D ballistic materials, Sketch packs are built for both laptops and tablets with padded sleeves and compartments. Intuitive design keeps gear protected and easily accessible with top lid, roll-top or large u-zip closures, depending on the model. Sternum and waist belts can be removed to customize for carry preference and allow the Sketch to make an easy transition from the office to the trail. Prices range from $59 to $129.

The Graph is a new messenger style bag available in 12L and 18L volumes. Both feature an external padded compartment that holds up to a 15-inch laptop, as well as a padded front flap pocket that fits a wide range of tablets. A reflective logo, sturdy grab handle, and durable materials all add to the bag’s convenient and intuitive design. Prices are $99 and $119 respectively.

The full line of Gregory’s Fall 2013 products will be on display at the 2013 OR Winter Market at Gregory booth #7037 in the Salt Palace Convention Center. To make a media appointment, please contact Cory Lowe at cory.lowe@backbonemedia.net.
