DENVER – The Colorado State Non-Motorized Trails Program is offering seven grant writing workshops in September. The grants are awarded for non-motorized trail construction, maintenance and planning or support. These three-hour workshops are limited to 25 participants and will be held in Ft. Collins, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Del Norte, Grand Junction, Steamboat Springs, and Fort Morgan. This year, the workshops will concentrate on changes to the application, why project applications do and don’t succeed, and an in-depth look at the criteria. There will be an extended question and answer period.

The Colorado State Non-Motorized Trails Program, a partnership among Colorado State Parks, Great Outdoors Colorado, the Colorado Lottery, the Federal Highways Administration Recreational Trails Program, and the Land and Water Conservation Fund, has, since 1971, actively encouraged the development of a variety of trails.
