Green Mountain Trail to be Completed Father’s Day Weekend

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – On Saturday, June 18, over 100 volunteers with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado will make their way to the top of William Frederick Hayden GreenMountain Park to complete the Summit Loop trail – just in time to welcome in the summer. At one of the highest locations in the park, Summit Loop offers a spectacular 360 degree view of the entire Front Range, Red Rocks, the Flatirons, and three 14,000 foot peaks. Approximately 125 volunteers are needed to help with the effort.

The Summit Loop trail is a popular destination in the park, and is currently only one-way. Volunteer efforts will complete construction of the loop, helping relieve some of the strain on the park’s other trails, and allowing park visitors to experience the trail’s breathtaking views. The trail will be open to hikers and bikers.
