    Creative Services Manager

    YETI Coolers created and leads the premium cooler category by making ridiculously tough (bear-proof) coolers that keep things cold for an absurdly long time, and is now expanding in to new markets and products. As we continue to broaden our offering and market focus, we are looking for somebody to help tell our story to millions of current and future YETI fans.

Your superior organizational skills allow you to stay on top of many projects at the same time. You aren’t afraid to take initiative and run with projects with varying levels of direction. You are the consummate team player. While you may or may not be a graphic designer yourself, you are well versed in managing internal and external creative teams.

    Overview

    The Creative Services Manager will lead YETI’s internal graphic design team and external creative partners in the creation of compelling branded materials to support organizational initiatives. He or she will be responsible for overseeing the execution of all creative projects, but will not be expected to produce the work him or herself.

    Reports to Vice President, Marketing

    Key Interfaces: Marketing, Sales, New Product Development, external designers, external photographers/videographers, external copywriters, external printers/ developers/ production partners.

    Duties

    • Work closely with the Marketing, Product and Ecommerce teams to understand their priorities and plan for the intake of creative work.
    • Receive, distill and rewrite marketing briefs so that a clear understanding across the internal client and Creative teams are reached prior to creative work inception.
    • Develop the overarching process of how work moves through the Creative department, including the creation of standard turn-around times, project plans and communication protocol.
    • Manage the coordination and assignment of resources to creative projects.
    • Hire, manage and direct the work of freelance designers and vendors.
    • Serve as the key interface between internal clients and the Creative team for all incoming requests and project modifications.
    • Coordinate reviews as required ensuring that creative work delivers to internal client needs.
    • Maintain and enforce brand style guides (including logo usage, typography, colors, imagery, voice, and tonality) across all media.
    • Develop and organize a library of creative assets.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Managing Creative projects effectively – on time, on budget, and at a high quality level – with excellent progress communication
    • Maintaining YETI brand consistency
    • Managing the internal graphic design team

    Requirements

    Work Experience

    • 5+ years of related professional experience, preferably for a consumer product brand or agency
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing teams and multiple complex projects within budgetary and schedule constraints
    • Experience working with a variety of media, including retail packaging, signage, large format printing, catalogs, print and digital advertising, web design, point of purchase displays and offset printing.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree

    • Ability to effectively articulate design direction and provide feedback
    • Team leadership and management skills
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
    • Nice to have: copywriting skills and photography interests
