    Field and Sales Marketing Lead

    Jointly reporting to the VP of Marketing and the Director of Retail Sales, the Field and Sales Marketing Lead is responsible for managing a team of passionate field marketing representatives. He/she will oversee all strategic planning, budgeting and program development for field marketing programs that are designed to build the Newton Running brand and increase sales. He/she has proven excellence in managing, mentoring, developing and building teams, with particular experience managing remotely based staff. This is an at-will, exempt position that is based in Boulder, CO and requires extensive travel (50%+).

    Manage Field Marketing Team

    Primary focus is the day-to-day management and development of remotely-based staff:

    • Lead as a mentor and servant-leader
    • Hire, motivate, supervise, train and develop an enthusiastic team of passionate millennial employees who are remotely based and operate independently
    • Foster strong and deep connections between staff and the Boulder headquarters, among the field marketers who are interspersed throughout the country, and within the sales team
    • Work closely with employees to create long-term performance plans, conduct performance reviews and support career develop and personal growth

    Drive coordination between marketing field reps and sales teams

    • Work closely with the VP of Marketing and the Director of Sales to coordinate calendars and drive national and local programs and result in sales
    • Lead and own the process of linking marketing targets with sales plans in order to grow the Newton Running Brand at the specialty retail and grassroots level
    • Act as liaison in order to insure sales needs are considered in corporate marketing and sales planning, serving as the conduit for go-to-market programs and initiatives

    Program development and implementation

    • Proactively seek to understand local markets, key customer trends and consumer dynamics and provide a POV on how to best drive the Newton Running Brand in each market and with our key retail partners within Specialty Running
    • Oversee and develop field event toolkits, including planning logistics, managing teams, creating collateral and providing feedback and evaluation after marketing initiatives
    • Work with in-house creative services team on creative development, production and campaign implementation, tracking and analysis for retail and grassroots marketing
    • Assists the various sales and field marketing teams with their planning in order to secure integration into the overall marketing and business plan
    • Manage logistics and distribution of equipment and assets in a timely and economical fashion and in-line with key marketing and sales dates
    • Adapt national brand plans and create custom marketing plans for local implementation

    Strategic Planning

    • Plan, document and budget for a remotely-based national team
    • Analyze data leading to improvement and continuing excellence
    • Communicate and articulate at a strategic level and translate vision into measurable objectives and action plans

    Budgeting and Financial Accountability

    • Develop and execute short and long term financial goals for retail and grassroots marketing programs
    • Ensure expenses remain in budget
    • Develop and report metrics and ROI of programs

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • 5+ years’ sales, marketing and/or operations management
    • Proven record of achievement as a sales or field marketing manager or regional leader
    • Ability to travel extensively (50%), including frequent weekend travel
    • Passionate runner and/or triathlete
    • Personal experience with Newton Running shoes

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
    • PC literate; MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Must have valid driver’s license and valid car insurance
