    International Sales Manager

    The individual in this position will have strategic input to and responsibility for meeting near-term sales goals and will position the organization for profitable long-term growth in key AAA markets.  This position requires an excellent sales track record, ability to develop new business, an understanding of the international marketplace including a working knowledge of the regulatory environment internationally.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Management of International Distribution:

    • Develop in-depth strategic recommendations for presentation to and iteration with VP, Sales
    • Manage existing network of international distributors to maximize sales, grow brand presence, and increase market share
    • Assist R&D and Regulatory by supporting their efforts to gain access to international markets through registration and ongoing batch documentation to meet customs requirements
    • Work with operations staff to facilitate order production and fulfillment
    • Champion all aspects of AAA business within the organization.
    • Manage and evaluate all distributors to terms outlined in distribution agreements.  Ensure that these partners are engaged, productive and meeting quarterly and annual financial plans.
    • Report results and effectiveness of distributors to senior management.
    • Customize growth plans and support needs for each national/regional market.
    • Provide monthly forecasts to VP, Sales  and Operations Team to ensure that GU is able to meet international demand while providing full service to higher margin domestic business
    • Develop new markets by researching, interviewing, and performing due diligence on all serious distributor candidates.  Goal is to secure additional distributors for all relevant markets.  Seek approval for new distributors with VP, Sales.
    • Develop thorough sales, marketing and financial reviews of distributors over 30k each year.
    • Examine landed-cost structure, profits, and consumer pricing to ensure that the economics are in line with GU interests in maximizing volume at a reasonable profit for all players in the value chain.  Tie sampling and other support to performance against such measures.
    • Develop a thorough understanding or regional retail pricing and discounting and build an approach to MAP that can work in the given region for all country distributors and their retail partners
    • Manage business within defined financial constraints as outlined by VP, Sales and President.
    • Travel as necessary to attend domestic and international trade shows and to evaluate / support current distributors as well as and interview prospective distributors.  Present quarterly travel outline to VP of Sales.
    • Work in positive collaboration with “breakout” teams as necessary to achieve the organization’s strategic priorities.
    • Other accountabilities, projects, and duties as may be assigned or changed from time to time by executive management.

     Experience, Skills and Attributes:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field of work.  Professional sales training is desired
    • Minimum of 4 years of relevant sales experience, including a track record of international sales success, preferably in the wholesale outdoor or sports nutrition industry
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a global distribution network, create sales plans, forecasting and budgeting as well as manage the sales cycle from business champion to the Executive level
    • Effective and professional written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency with Excel and various business software packages, Sage Business Works experience a plus
    • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a growing and changing organization

    • Travel of up to 40%
