Gore currently has an exciting opportunity for a proven project manager to join our Research & Development team in Shenzhen, China to develop innovative new products for our consumer Fabrics business.

The role calls for partnering with product managers and business teams to understand consumer needs and the market environment, refining and summarizing those needs into a concise project scope, and then working with our global technology & engineering platforms to drive the product development from concept through commercialization to launch.

This individual will also have the opportunity to participate in other related projects as a core or extended team member, working collaboratively with other associates to achieve the team’s business targets.

• Utilizing a strong technical background to drive product development against agreed timelines
• Demonstrating capability to identify the largest uncertainties and create a detailed plan to address those uncertainties
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Driving good business decisions through appropriate project reviews & practices
• Willingness to do hands-on work, such as prototyping, designing/executing/analysing experiments and troubleshooting issues as they arise
• Coaching inexperienced project teams in the art and discipline of project management, making this challenging and at the same time, fun and exciting

Qualifications/Background

• Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of professional experience in Materials Science/ Engineering (preferred), or in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated strengths in product development with track record of taking ideas from concept to market and driving complex technical projects to closure
• Excellent technical and problem solving skills.
• Minimum of 3 years’ international technical project leadership experience in a multinational company or overseas experience
• An enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills
• Fluency in spoken and written Chinese and English
• Demonstrated strengths in leading, teaching, mentoring and coaching others
• Self-motivated, creative thinker
• Data-driven and a mindset to drive to a fundamental understanding.
• Familiar with statistical approaches and tools
• Ideal candidate should have experience in the outdoor related industry and be an outdoor enthusiast.
