On Tuesday, drone videographer Eric Sterman published a video on YouTube of footage he captured over three separate days that shows whale pods swimming on the North Shore of Oahu. In the video, the whales can also be seen swimming through the wave lineup at Pipeline, an event that was also captured by photographer JT Gray.

Sterman used a Dronefly and GoPro HERO3+ to capture the footage.

“While I filmed from land, the whales ranged anywhere from a mile out at sea to close to the shore,” he wrote in the video’s description. “A truly awesome experience.”
