    VIDEO: Three Films about Athletes We Can’t Wait to See (with Trailers)

    Starring Reese Witherspoon, this film is an adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. It tells the story of 26-year-old Strayed as she hikes more than 1,000 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail, all while coping with the problems she’s faced in her life—drug addiction and the end of her marriage. It’s a powerful story about finding oneself on the trail.

    Unbroken

    Adapted from the book by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken tells the story of war hero and Olympian Louis “Louie” Zamperini, played by Jack O’Connell. The film is directed by Angelina Jolie and according to its description, is an “unbelievable and inspiring true story about the resilient power of the human spirit.”

    In the latest film from professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones, Higher builds on his two previous films, 2010’s Deeper and 2012’s Further. The third and final installment of the trilogy is produced by award-winning Teton Gravity Research, and presented by Subaru. It follows Jones’ lifelong snowboarding journey from hiking Cape Cod’s Jailhouse Hill as a kid, to where he is today. It’s currently on a worldwide tour with more than 200 stops, and was selected to be part of the 62nd San Sebastian Film Festival, in addition to being a finalist for Best Film at the 2014 Banff International Mountain Film Festival.
