    Sixth Annual Rail Jam Returns to Birmingham, MI Saturday, September 20

    Ski and snowboard event to include movie premiere and competition

    Don Thomas Sporthaus and Skis.com are proud to bring back the Annual Rail Jam to downtown Birmingham, starting at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.  The event will still be held in the median between Woodward Avenue and Old Woodward and is open to the public for competitors and spectators.

    On Friday, Sept. 19 there will be a movie premiere in the Don Thomas Sporthaus parking lot starting at 6:30pm showcasing the new Inspired Movie Tour movies “Road to Zion” with Henrik Harlaut and “Keynote Skier” with Phil Casabon.  Tickets will be available for purchase at Don Thomas Sporthaus for $10.00 prior to the event. Henrik and Phil will be at the movies for a meet and greet signing autographs. Henrik is a Swedish Olympian, 3x X-Games medalist and the only competitor at the X-Games to have a perfect score. Phil is considered one of the most progressive rail riders.

    The rail jam will feature special guest the first lady of snowboarding and K2 sponsored rider Gretchen Bleiler. The 2x Olympian (silver medalist) and 5x X-Games medalist originally from Ohio and hailing from Aspen, Colorado is one of the most decorated female Snowboarders of all times. She has been the recipient of multiple Female Snowboarder of the Year Fuel’s Action Sports Awards, capturing an ESPY and the first female action sports athlete to be on the cover of ESPN.

    Competitor categories will include: male skiers, 15 and older; male skiers, 14 and under; female skiers; male snowboarders, 15 and older; male snowboarders, 14 and younger; and female snowboarders. Thousands of dollars in prizes and giveaways will be available for both the competitors and spectators.

    All competitors must pre-register and print a waiver form, online at http://boneheadx.com/birmingham-rail-jam with a limit of 75 riders.  Additionally, there will be a $10 donation entry fee, which will benefit the Protect Our Winters. POW’s mission is to unite and actively engage the global snow sports community to lead the fight against climate change.
