Gus Kenworthy Signs Deal with Monster Energy

Free-skier Gus Kenworthy joins the Monster Energy team.

Monster Energy is proud to announce that American freeskier Gus Kenworthy has joined its roster of athletes. The resident of Denver, CO has been at the forefront of the freeskiing movement for a number of years and brings his progressive and unique talent to the Monster Energy team.

Most notably, the 23-year-old took home the slopestyle silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, where freeskiing made its debut on the world’s stage. No newcomer to accolades and awards, Kenworthy is the reigning AFP Overall World Champion and amassed eight podiums and 12 top-10 finishes in the past calendar year. And in today’s freeski world where athletes are becoming more and more specialized to their respective disciplines, Kenworthy remains a true triple threat, having the honor of being the only athlete invited to all three events at the 2014 Winter X Games: Slopestyle, Superpipe and Big Air.

Originally hailing from Telluride, CO, Kenworthy is a member of the US Freeskiing team, and also skis for Nike, Atomic and Sony. Other career highlights include a bronze medal in 2013 at Winter X Games Tignes, film segments with Matchstick Productions and four AFP Overall World titles.
