Snow Press Release

adidas Snowboarding Welcomes Louif Paradis to Global Team

adidas Snowboarding is proud to announce the addition of Louif Paradis to it’s Global Team. Hailing from the street snowboarding mecca of Quebec, Canada, Louif is an exciting addition to the brand’s already iconic roster of snowboarders.

After more than eight consecutively celebrated full-length video parts, neatly capped off with an award from TransWorld SNOWboarding’s Rider’s Poll Awards for Men’s Video Part of the Year in 2013, Louif has proved himself a consistent killer when it comes to producing parts. But not only does Louif film video parts, he also has five Winter X Games medals including double Golds in 2013 for his performance in the “Real Snow” and “Men’s Street” events. Louif has cemented himself as one of the most progressive and influential riders ever to put p-tex to snow … or metal.

Growing up in Quebec, Louif was influenced first and foremost by the terrain of his snow-covered city, “Growing up here shaped the snowboarder that I am … if I had big mountains I would have directed towards something else, but having all these spots all around and all this snow … I had to be creative and I had to find obstacles.” Outside of weather patterns and architecture, Louif was inspired early on by the previous generation of French Canadian pros like Etienne Gilbert and DCP. Most importantly though he was inspired and motivated by his friends that he rode with every day, at every spot. Most all of the guys he grew up riding with have since graduated to the professional ranks alongside Louif. They did it together and they’re still here—see Déjà Vu.

Confident, driven, and focused since day one, Paradis is a true professional in every sense of the word. Quiet but calculated, he is a master of his craft. Louif is naturally passionate about what he does and he’s casually amazing when he does it. He is one of the best in the game and he shows no signs of slowing. Louif’s style, precision, and abilities have been instrumental in pushing snowboarding to where it’s at now; and adidas Snowboarding is looking forward to being a part of where he takes it next.

“I’ve been watching Lou’ snowboard since I was 15 or 16 years-old, since way before I started filming snowboarding. The dude is amazing. He moves with such smooth style and his riding is always inspiring. He’s one of the best snowboarders alive, no doubt.” —Forest Bailey

“WELCOME: LOUIF PARADIS” will be released on Friday the 18th of August on www.adidas.com/snowboarding.

    ABOUT THE WELCOME DOCUMENTARY SERIES

The WELCOME documentary series was launched last year as less of an introduction to the adidas Snowboarding team and more of an introspection into who these riders are, what drives them, where they came from, and where they’re headed in the future. This year, we are proud to add an addition to our TransWorld SNOWboarding award winning series and present Louif with his very own part.
