Brooks-Range Mountaineering’s Lt. Breeze Wind Jacket Wins Three Media Awards at Outdoor Retailer

The new Brooks-Range Lt. Breeze Wind Jacket turned heads across the industry at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, and received awards from top outlets including Gear JunkieGear Patrol and Gear Institute for its innovative design and lightweight superiority.

The simple yet innovative Lt. Breeze Wind Jacket features 20d nylon and fleece dots that are laminated to the inside of the jacket which makes it comfortable to wear directly against the skin and helps prevent the build up of moisture from sweat. A high quality, minimalist design, the Lt. Breeze weighs only 5.5 oz. and can easily be stuffed into its own pocket.

Gear Junkie awarded the Lt. Breeze the Best in Show Award. “This minimal coat is of the type that could literally blow away, its 20d nylon comprising a shell that weighs mere ounces and balls up small,” said Gear Junkie editor Stephen Regenold. The jacket also won the Best New Gear Award from Gear Institute. This award honors the most legitimately innovative new gear in the outdoor industry – products that represent a true step forward in design, aesthetics or performance. The fleece dots are “the kind of design feature we expect to start seeing soon in lots of copycat designs, and Brooks-Range deserves credit for being first with yet another smart design advancement,” said Gear Institute editor Justin Nyberg.

The Lt. Breeze was also chosen as one of only ten products for the Best of Outdoor Retailer from Gear Patrol. “What we first noticed about the Brooks Range Lt. Breeze is how good it looks: its color options are super-rich red, blue and yellow. But there’s also some innovation packed into the 5.5-ounce 20d nylon jacket,” said Gear Patrol editor Jeremy Berger.

The Lt. Breeze Wind Jacket was also featured in Day 0 and Day 1 of the Outdoor Retailer Dailies. To see these features visit outdoorretailer.com. For more information about Brooks-Range visit brooks-range.com.

“Being recognized by some of the most influential media outlets in the outdoor industry is an honor,” said Brooks-Range’s General Manager, Jeff Blakely. “Brooks-Range is built on innovation and developing high quality mountaineering gear and apparel. The Lt. Breeze is truly a groundbreaking wind jacket and bringing an award-winning product to market is a company-wide achievement.”
