SeaLife Introduces the World’s First Permanently Sealed Camera: the Micro HD

SeaLife’s new revolutionary ultra-compact Micro HD camera.

SeaLife has taken camera technology to a new level, with the introduction of the world’s first permanently sealed waterproof camera. SeaLife’s new revolutionary ultra-compact Micro HD camera can be used above or below the water line and is guaranteed not to leak for the life of the camera.

Measuring just four inches wide and similar in size to a deck of cards, the Micro HD is handy and compact. It’s rubber-armored esthetic design feels and looks more like a miniature SLR camera, yet it still has space for a built-in 2.4-inch LCD screen. But there are some things you won’t find like removable batteries, memory cards, O-rings, housing, openings, latches or doors on the Micro HD.

The base Micro HD model stores 16GB of high-resolution images and 1080p HD videos, and the upgraded Micro HD+ model features 32GB of internal storage. Downloading images and videos from the Micro HD is done with the included USB cable that attaches to waterproof contacts on the bottom of the camera. The Micro HD+ also adds Wi-Fi technology to allow wireless transfer and sharing images and videos with others.

The new SeaLife Micro HD has a permanent internal battery that lasts for three hours of continuous use and is charged via the USB cable. The USB port is an external contact port that can charge or sync while the camera is still wet.

Several unique features make the Micro HD easy to use. Instead of buttons, three large “Piano Keys” control all functions. Starting with a simple setup menu, users input their type of shooting, depth and lighting they’ll be using. The dedicated video key starts and stops video recording with a single press, and while recording a video, still photos can be taken without interruption. Other photo options include rapid-fire mode of ten images per second and continuous picture taking at preset intervals.

Instead of fully text menus, colorful reference pictures are used to intuitively direct users through an Easy Setup Guide for optimal color correction based on the environment and lighting.

The built-in 140-degree wide-angle lens makes it easy to aim and take steady videos at either 30 or 60 frames-per-second rates. With a still image resolution of 13MP, the camera focuses sharply from one foot to infinity with almost no shutter lag.

For those who want to get more out of their SeaLife Micro HD camera, external SeaLife accessories are available. The camera also works with a myriad of Go-Pro camera-compatible mounts to rails, handlebars, boats and boards, allowing the user many upgradable options.

The 32GB Micro HD+ is also available as a complete set that includes a 2000-lumen Sea Dragon Light, Flex-Connect Micro Tray and Grip.
