Summit Sports Launches “Protect the World We Play in” Summer of Giving

Donation Program Gives Back 1% of Sales to Charity of Choice

Summit Sports Inc. has launched a new initiative on InlineSkates.com, WaterOutfitters.com, and CampGear.com to give back this summer.  During the months of June and July, the three sites will be donating 1% of every sale to one of three charities that the customer gets to select.  The charity that receives the most donations will earn an extra $1,000 from Summit Sports.

The three charities that will be donated to are Leave No Trace, Clean Water Fund and American Trails.  These charities were handpicked by Summit Sports because they support Summit’s core value of protecting the world we play in and being environmentally responsible.  The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands.  Clean Water Fund protects water and health, from watershed to water tap.  American Trails supports local, regional, and long-distance trails and greenways, whether they be in backcountry, rural or urban areas.

“Here at Summit Sports we know how important is it to protect and maintain the environment so everyone can enjoy the outdoors in all their splendor,” says Steve Kopitz, President and CEO of Summit Sports, “This summer we are proud to give back to those who support the outdoors and allow us to do what we do and love as a company.”

This program will run from June 1st through July 31st.  The charity with the most donations will be announced after the initiative has ended and receive the extra $1,000.  Additional donations can be made for each charity at LNT.org, CleanWaterFund.org, and AmericanTrails.org.
