I checked out the new products from Granite Gear during the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, the most unique of which is the new Cross-Trek Travel Gear Collection. Perfect for those who want durable travel gear, but also something that can be transformed into a backpack, this collection is extremely versatile.
Cross-Trek Travel Gear Collection
Granite Gear has expanded into adventure travel with this collection, perfect for any traveler. The collection, which went to retail in June, features a 36-liter backpack, a 22-inch wheeled carry-on duffel, a 26-inch wheeled carry-on duffel with removable 28-liter backpack, a 26-inch wheeled duffel, and a 32-inch wheeled duffel. Each pack includes repelaweave and repelagrid DWR-treated polyester, as well as BARRIER protection, which is a water repellent. The 22-inch, 26-inch, and 32-inch wheeled duffels also transition into backpacks with hide-away straps and hip belts. The bags range from $89.99 to $199.99. They will be available in color schemes of Black/Chromium and Bleumine/Blue Frost.
Additions to Nimbus Trace Access Series
The brand is expanding its Nimbus Trace Access Series with a 60-liter pack and an 85-liter pack. Both feature the Nimbus Trace Suspension System and will be available next spring. “We’ve maintained the same quality and precision in fit and comfort in these additional Nimbus packs,” Bob Coughlin, co-owner and vice president of sales, said in a news release. “It’s important to us to be able to offer pack size options for hikers and explorers, whether they want to spend a weekend on the trail or four months in the North Pole.” The 60-liter is available for men and women for $329.95 and the 85-liter is available for men and women for $369.95.
Packable Duffels Added to Lifestyle Collection
A line of packable duffels was added to Granite Gear’s Lifestyle Collection, with four different styles for sale. They will be available in a 20-inch pack, a 24-inch pack, a 30-inch pack, and a 36-inch pack—they will retail for $49.99, $59.99, $69.99, and $79.99, respectively. “When developing new products, our main concern is a high level of functionality,” Michael Meyer, director of design and development, said in a news release. “We’re confident that the versatility of these packs will allow them to easily fit into any lifestyle, whether they’re being used for adventure travel or a quick trip to the gym.”
Also scheduled for release next spring is the Virga 26-liter pack, ideal for minimalist hikers. It’s frameless, which decreases the weight and allows it to be rolled up and stored in a larger pack or luggage. With a weight of just one pound, it’s a great travel option. It’s available in Tiger/Java, Brilliant Blue/Moonmist, or Black color schemes, and all will retail for $119.95.
