For next spring, footwear company Hi-Tec will be releasing a new style of hiking boots for men, women, and children and will also be expanding the brand to incorporate a new line of everyday walking shoes for men. I caught up with Sarah Niklas from Terra Public Relations and Hi-Tec Marketing Manager Ian Little at last week’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market to learn more about the new shoes.

Walking Collection

“They’re know as a hiking boot brand, but this year the big push is their new walking line,” Niklas said. “They’re really good looking shoes.”

Most outdoor enthusiasts understand the importance of wearing high-quality shoes that pertain to the specific sport they’re doing, whether it be running, mountain biking, or hiking. Unfortunately, most people don’t put as much thought into the shoes they wear on a daily basis, opting for style over comfort. Hi-Tec is hoping to provide the perfect everyday shoe that doesn’t skimp on performance or comfort with its new walking collection.

The walking shoes feature the RollinGait System, which was created through a partnership between Hi-Tec and Vibram. This system works with the natural roll of the foot in order to provide a comfortable stride, even when going downhill.

The V-LITE Walk-Lite Witton is one option made of leather and a suede upper and is available in three different colors.

Hiking Collection 

New for next spring is the collection of Altitude Lite hiking boots for men, women, and children. With a focus on lightweight, breathable materials, these boots are ideal for use during anything from a day hike to a longer backpacking trip.

“The Altitude Lite i WP features i-shield technology, which repels water and dirt, and is resistant to stains,” the product description reads. “The Dri-Tec waterproof membrane keeps feet dry while the rugged Multi-Directional Traction rubber outsole improves grip and provides durability.”

The shoes are made of waterproof suede and a nylon mesh upper. There are two color options for men, two for women, and three for children, all of which will be available in spring 2015.
