    Video: The Dirtbag Climber

Upon graduating college in 2008, James Lucas decided to abandon the norms of society and live in his rusted, beat-up station wagon. While this dirtbag way of life is not what many people consider ideal, Lucas does it so he can travel around Joshua Tree and Yosemite to climb.

As an economics major, the climber prides himself on living frugally in order to carry out his dreams. EpicTV released an episode of the series Cedar Wright Climbing Reels that featured Wright catching up with Lucas in Indian Creek, “where they talk about the the cultural, social, and practical reasons that there are fewer and fewer people living as dirtbags.”
