While the global economic climate may not be improving rapidly, Peters & May (P&M) is reporting steady signs of growth in the boat transport market.
With the support of parent company The Constantine Group, P&M adapted its structure during the recent economic downturn to ensure that it continued to support the marine industry with competitive shipping prices, honest advice and reliable services.
This focus on delivering exceptional services to existing customers while continuing to grow its client base by exploring new markets has proven successful. The last quarter of 2013 was the most successful quarter for Peters & May in the past 2 years.
The remainder of 2014 is set to continue in this way with Q1 forecast to show a 37% increase in sales revenue on Q4 of 2013. This growth will be driven by the established offices in the UK, USA, Asia, Spain and France, but will also be supported by new and existing agency agreements and 3 new offices.
New offices have recently been opened in Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Le Havre, France and Shanghai, China.
- Lee Metcalfe will be operating from STP Shipyard in Palma, supporting regular and visiting yachts and motor boats with couriering, consolidation and shipping services.
- Eric Ferchaud and his team of Terence Lacour and Pascal Cantaix will be based in the new Le Havre office working with Philippe Olivero who remains in Marseille and Lindsey Ashdown who supports the French market from the UK Head Office.
- Ai Xing joins Peters & May and will work from the Shanghai office, alongside Kevin Corfa and Alexis Bizalion in Hong Kong servicing the growing Asian market.
Recent news that Award-winning international transport specialist Aurora Global Logistics, based in Queensland, Australia is to concentrate its efforts on working exclusively with Peters & May has been embraced by both businesses. Aurora Managing Director, Jason Roberts said it was important that the industry and Aurora’s clientele could clearly identify what transport services are available and most suited to them. “The partnership with Peters & May has established Aurora with an internationally recognized reputation that is trusted by the world’s leading yacht manufacturers – being the world’s only ISO accredited boat transporter”.
Peters & May has also established a new agency agreement in the United Arab Emirates, joining forces with World Wide Yacht Shipping; an established and trust yacht shipping business based in Dubai.
David Holley, CEO of Peters & May comments “It’s been a tough few years, but we are really excited about the future. This business is operated by trustworthy, honest individuals who each excel in their chosen area, and we have built a network of agents and overseas staff who operate in the same way as us. We are all focused on delivering beyond the clients expectations, making a success of every shipment, which is turn will make a success of every business involved in the P&M family, as well as every individual. It’s going to be a great year!”
