Julbo USA, a leader in high-end performance eyewear, welcomes ultrarunner Jason Schlarb to its roster of sponsored athletes. Schlarb, who recently won the Run Rabbit Run ultramarathon in mid-September, will be a great asset to Julbo’s ever-growing and impressive team of endurance athletes, including fellow ultrarunners: Ian Sharman, Krissy Moehl, Aliza Lapierre, Micahel Wardian, Michael Wolfe, Gina Lucrezi, Joe Grant and Ashley Arnold.
“I am honored and furthermore, motivated to be a part of Julbo’s world class team,” said Schlarb. “Living in Missoula, MT and spending two to 10 hours a day running in the Rocky Mountains, protective eyewear is essential. Julbo makes the best performance sunglasses in the world and it is a huge advantage to train and race with the best.”
From the D1 track and cross-country program at Montana State to casual road running and marathons, Schlarb has always been a natural runner. However, it was not until a friend pushed Schlarb to try a San Francisco ultra race in 2010 that he caught the bug. Since then, the sport has continued to garner interest and Schlarb has not returned to the road.
Schlarb’s official career began at the 2012 Run Rabbit Run where he experienced the ups and downs of running a 100-miler. Although a tough race, Schlarb understood his potential when he realized that before he took an unfortunate wrong turn, he actually was in second place. A year later, Schlarb returned to compete in the Run Rabbit Run, now to be only his second ever 100-miler. He not only won the race, but he set a new course record with a time of 17 hours and 15 minutes for the 103-mile course.
“As the sport of ultrarunning continues to evolve, Julbo is thrilled to welcome Jason to our growing team of athletes,” said Nick Yardley, CEO of Julbo USA. “Jason’s impressive record-breaking performance at Run Rabbit Run is just a glimpse of his potential and we have no doubt that he will strongly represent the Julbo brand going forward.“
Julbo provides the finest performance optics for the industry’s distinguished athletes. The addition of Jason Schlarb to Julbo’s athlete team exemplifies the company’s focus and dedication to build a recognizable team of endurance runners.
