Whether you’re a student working on a class project. or a fall colors enthusiast, join Mounds State Park for an easy hike into the forest during Tree ID Days, Oct. 12-13.
During four scheduled hikes, participants will learn to identify a variety of trees. Students participating in the hikes for a school project will be permitted to collect leaves.
“Student or not, it’ll be fun for everyone,” interpretive naturalist Jessica Rosier said.
Hikes will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both days. Hikers will depart from the visitors center and last about an hour. The hikes will offer the same information each time.
Tree ID Days are free after paying the regular park entrance fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
