With three weeks until opening, the Michigan Boating Industries Association’s fall In-water Boat Show, the Boating & Outdoor Festival, is growing again in 2013 as exhibitors look to display more boats in water and on land. Show management has added floating docks to accommodate more boats in the south marina, based as dealer and broker requests for more slips. “Our winter and spring boat shows both saw growth in space sales and increased attendance, so we are pleased to see more boats on display at this important fall boat show as well,” said Boat Show Manager Nicki Polan. “Boat sales reports have been good, marinas slip rentals are up, and reports of service and repair are through the roof. We continue to hear good things from the industry and our members that show a recovery for our industry.”
In 2012, the boating market in Michigan outpaced the rest of the country with 20% growth and is the third largest boating market in the country – with more than $450 million spent on boats, motors, trailers and accessories last year. The industry has a $7.43 billion economic impact on the state of Michigan. “We have high anticipations that this show to be profitable for our exhibitors and fun for our attendees,” said Polan.
In addition to hundreds of boats in the water and on-land, accessories and services, the Boating & Outdoor Festival is known for providing a full day of fun for the whole family. Other special features include the Be A Diver Scuba Pool, Outdoor Nation Summit getting the millennial generation outdoors, Angler’s Dream Bass Fishing Tournament, live music at the Tiki Bar, Taste Fest, a kid’s zone with character appearances, and more!
