Through our youth, we secure our future. Cruzin understands this vision for the marine industry. America’s leading Boater-to-Boater rental marketplace, at www.cruzin.com, is supporting sailing by sponsoring the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup (RBYAC) team Full Metal Jacket Racing.
Ten teams, with crew ages 19-24, will compete at the inaugural RBYAC event September 1-4 in San Francisco, California. It falls between the highly publicized Louis Vuitton Cup and America’s Cup.
FMJ Racing hails from New Zealand, led by 23-year-old skipper William Tiller of Auckland. The RBYAC teams compete in high-performance, wing-sailed AC45 catamarans—the same design used in the America’s Cup World Series. All main elements are identical among the yachts, putting greater emphasis on boathandling and tactics by the young, skilled athletes.
“These are the superstars of youth sailing, and we’re proud to support FMJ Racing, who have two seasons under their belts as a powerful team. RBYAC has done an excellent job of conveying the fun and excitement of competitive sailing, drawing the attention of more young people to this sport than anyone has seen before,” said Jaclyn Baumgarten, Cruzin CEO.
“It translates into promoting fun on the water, the lifestyle our industry is trying to share to enable us to grow. This is exactly what Cruzin is all about, keeping people in boating.” Cruzin.com helps connect those who want to boat with those who own one. Boat owners generate income from their vessels to help offset ownership costs. Renters have a simple, convenient means to get on the water, nationwide.
“As a sailor who is frequently on the road, I love the idea that I can pick up a boat anywhere in the US and just go for a sail. Cruzin lets me do that, which is awesome,” said William Tiller, FMJ Racing skipper.
Everyone connecting through www.cruzin.com is protected by $1,000,000+ in hull and liability insurance, and BoatUS towing services. Renters are pre-qualified via an Experian ID and fraud-prevention check, and have at least two years of boating experience.
