Chicks Climbing Women’s Rock Clinics Hit Devil’s Lake

Chicks Rock! offers rock climbing clinics, July 26-29, 2013.

Send the purple cliffs at Devil’s Lake State Park at a three-day intensive rock climbing clinic designed specifically for women climbers and aspiring women climbers. This clinic is led by some of the best women guides in the nation who are passionate about inspiring other “chicks” to be safe, self-reliant climbers.

Chicks Rock!, where women teach women the art of climbing, welcomes beginner to advanced rock climbers with 5 different clinic levels to choose from. Depending on experience, climbers will focus on footwork, movement skills, anchors, resting stances, self-rescue and protection placement on lead. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to network with other women climbers and create life long friends.

“This isn’t your average climbing clinic. Expect to learn new techniques and get hours on the rocks but also expect to be encouraged, cheered on, laughed at, awed and inspired. Expect to feel proud, frustrated, scared, tired, psyched and surprised at yourself and the women you will meet. Chicks Rock! is so much more than just climbing – it will have a lasting impact on your life,” explains Angela Hawse, AMGA 2011 Guide of the Year, and Chicks Rock! Girly Guide.

Registration: Chicks Rock! Devil’s Lake is $975 and includes three days of climbing lessons at 4 to 1 guide to participant ratio, camping fees, meals and demo gear from Chicks! sponsors including Marmot and Osprey. Women who are interested in only climbing lessons can register for $795. Register online.
