    PrimaLoft Launches New Line of Performance Fleece and Fabrics

    PrimaLoft, the world leader in performance insulations and yarns, continues its dedication to innovation and technical performance with the launch of a new line of proprietary fabrics which are an extension of the brand’s short staple insulations, continuous filament insulations, and technical yarns.

    In recent months, the company has made significant strides in the development of its proprietary yarn blends through the implementation of new materials and advanced processing technologies. Additionally, PrimaLoft YARN has recently received patent approval in Europe, Asia and Russia, with patent pending status in North America.

    NEW PrimaLoft Performance Fleece and Fabrics

    PrimaLoft has partnered with world renowned global textile manufacturers including Mitsui, Pontetorto, Tiong Liong, and Eurotex to engineer and introduce the following new fabric applications using PrimaLoft YARN:

    • – Performance fleece
    • – Base layer and seamless base layer fabrics
    • – Technical knits and two-ply knits

    The new fabrics are constructed with PrimaLoft YARN, a knittable yarn made from micro denier PrimaLoft fibers that are finer than cashmere, resulting in a luxuriously soft feel. Fabrics constructed with PrimaLoft YARN feature the following performance advantages: excellent warmth, superior softness, fast dry rate, enhanced durability, moisture management properties, and anti-friction capabilities.

    The new fabrics are being launched at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2012 and samples will be available for preview, by appointment only, at the PrimaLoft booth (#39043).

    Lightweight insulations for year-round activities

    In addition to its new line of proprietary fabrics, PrimaLoft will also be showcasing a selection of the brand’s lightest weight insulations to tie into the light and fast trend among leading outdoor industry brands.

    With the proliferation of body-mapped, lightweight, and hybrid garments, PrimaLoft has seen the popularity grow of its lower gram weight insulations. Insulation gram weights as low as 25g, 40g, and 60g have taken off with brands and consumers, and offer all-season use, enabling consumers more options for outdoor activities year-round.

    Global outdoor brands such as adidas, Dynafit, Rab, La Sportiva, Patagonia, The North Face, Vaude, and many others utilize PrimaLoft’s lightest weight insulations to meet the demands of their customers looking for light and fast gear.     New ownership: PrimaLoft, Inc.

    PrimaLoft, Inc. became a privately-owned business on June 29, 2012, after completing a management led buyout from Albany International Corp. The purchase of PrimaLoft was led by Michael Joyce, former president of Albany International Corp.’s Applied Technology Group, and the PrimaLoft senior management team.
