PROBAR Releases Four New Original Flavors

Q: How can you make a PROBAR even better? A: Make new flavors with loads of organic chocolate, peanut butter, or exotic fruits. PROBAR is proud to announce the expansion of its most popular and well-known line of Original Whole Food Meal Bars to now include Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Super Fruit Slam. As with the rest of the Original PROBAR line, the new flavors are guaranteed to delight your taste buds and naturally satisfy your energy needs.

The new flavors fall within PROBAR’s Original line of high nutrient-to-calorie ratio, meal-replacement bars built from certified organic, plant-based, non-GMO ingredients. The new chocolate and peanut butter flavors are packed with a delicious medley of organic cashew butter, papaya, flax seeds, dry roasted peanuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and much more. The new Super Fruit Slam incorporates several exotic “super fruits” including organic Acai, Mangosteen, Purple Corn, and Camu Camu. “The new bars are simply outstanding,” said PROBAR President Jules Lambert, “The new Double Chocolate and Peanut Butter are PROBAR takes on classic favorites, while Super Fruit Slam is a rare flavor combination made from exotic super fruits.”

The addition of the four new Original flavors mid-winter may come at an odd time for most natural food companies, but is completely appropriate for PROBAR. PROBAR was founded in 2001 by a hungry snowboard instructor named Art Eggertsen. Unsatisfied with the lunch options at Snowbird Resort, Eggertsen—a vegan chef by training—took matters into his own hands and created the first “PROBAR” to help him get through 8 hours of non-stop teaching at the resort. Lambert added, “PROBAR is a natural foods company, but our roots are strongly in outdoor and winter sport activity. In our case, PROBAR was literally born on the slopes.”

The new flavors (MSRP $3.29) will be available nationwide January 2012. Learn more at:
