Overview:

The community of Royalton is located in rural Magoffin county. At the center of town is Kentucky's longest Rails to Trails Project, the Dawkins Line Rail Trail. This popular trail system cuts right through Royalton, and provides great access to what will eventually be the midpoint of a 36 mile trail system open to hikers, bikers and equestrians. A local bicycle and exercise retail store in Prestonsburg has opened a new location located right at the trailhead location in Royalton. The Royalton Cyclery will provide rentals and shuttle services for trail users. There is also a local restaurant, gas station and retail store located at the trailhead where trail users can find food and other goods.
