The Demand Planner will provide historical and statistical analysis, drive and support seasonal and long term forecasting, and optimize alignment of supply and demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish and build consensus on sales category forecasts using historical data, statistical projections, and market feedback
- Influence maximization of product availability while supporting inventory management strategies to minimize costs
- Monitor projections based on pricing, factory capacity, inventory goals, and costs
- Collect, analyze, and summarize sales data to assist in the identification of opportunities and risks regarding product forecasts
- Prepare and execute seasonal buy plan that is submitted to executive committee for approval
- Partner with Sales and Product departments regarding lead times and shipping windows to ensure proper flow versus financial plan
- Analyze and report at the category level; selling by season, style and size
- Analyze margin on purchase orders to meet financial plan, and analyze SKU count for financial impact and ROI
- Analyze sales trends and sell-through for styles to develop buying strategy, reorder strategy and exit strategies
Qualified candidates will have a 4 year business degree and/or relevant experience, strong analytical/decision making/communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft products, with an emphasis on Excel. Candidates with prior supply/demand knowledge preferred.
