Our history is in hardgoods but we began making significant investments in soft goods in 2013. We moved to an 18,000 square foot facility (up from 7,500) to support our growth and started bringing in new brands and inventory as fast, and reasonably intelligently, as possible.

After a year of rapid soft goods growth, we’re ready to hire the person to take point on building out our soft goods program.

The Director, Soft Goods will implement a strategic soft goods buying program and oversee the internal development of a new soft goods brand. Learn more online.

Buying:

• Develop and execute a vendor acquisition plan for apparel, footwear, and accessories
• Create internal tools for managing all aspects of buying, including budgeting, planning, and the establishment of an OTB program
• Undertake market and sales trend analyses to inform buying decisions
• Select products for purchase
• Determine markdown, promotion, and exit strategies
• Manage vendor relationships, including all negotiations
• Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to develop marketing strategies
• Work with senior management on overall business planning
• Hire and manage buying team as required

Internal Brand(s) Development:

• Lead effort to define internal brand development goals
• Identify trends and market opportunities
• Work with all stakeholders (product design, suppliers, marketing, graphic design, technology) to execute on program goals

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of retail buying, merchandising, and/or fashion design experience
• BA/BS
• Action sports experience would be nice but is not required
• You want to build something special and are up for putting in the time and emotional energy required to do so
• You want to lead but also love getting your hands dirty
• You desire a creative outlet
• You like to analyze but aren’t paralyzed by analysis
• You like process but not too much process
• You are anxious to get things done and avoid the political bullshit found in many larger companies
