“I am so excited to be a part of the Strava community,” said Kara Goucher. “It’s a great place for me to share my training with my fans and a place to find inspiration because we can connect and encourage each other to reach our goals.”

With the support from Oiselle, Skechers, Nuun Hydration, Zensah and Soleus, Kara will be competing in the 2014 New York City Marathon in addition to pursuing her third Olympic Games. Kara made her marathon debut in New York City in 2008, where she placed third in the race. She competed on the U.S. Olympic team in 2008 and 2012.

“Part of what makes the Strava experience so inspiring is the ability to connect with professional athletes you look up to,” said Alyssa Berman, Director of Brand Marketing at Strava. “We’re excited to have Kara join our running community and look forward to following her training activity for the NYC Marathon and beyond.” Hundreds of professional athletes have joined Strava to track and share their running and cycling activities online. Strava provides their fans with insight into how they train to perform at the top of their sport.
