Spartan Race has announced its first Spartan Race Triple Crown competition, which will require athletes to complete three of four Reebok Spartan Race events this fall in hopes of being crowned the winner—and getting in on more than $500,000 in prize money and awards.
The Triple Crown is the first-ever championship of obstacle racing, and the titles will be given to the top male and top female competitors. Participants must complete the Reebok Spartan World Championship in Killington, Vermont on September 20, the Team Championship in Dallas, Texas on November 1, and either the South Carolina Spartan Race Beast or the Sacramento Reebok Spartan Race Super, both of which will be held on October 25.
Competing in the Triple Crown will be athletes from at least 18 different countries. The male and female winners will be awarded in Texas, based on best cumulative performances in the three races. This article will be updated with additional information as it becomes available.
