Organizational Realignment Reflects Ongoing Commitment To Innovation, Sales and Customer Service

American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) today announced several changes to the executive and sales staff of its Marine Division. The personnel moves reflect Suzuki’s ongoing commitment to provide both the OEM and consumer marine markets with exceptional customer service and innovative new products.

“Our continued growth in the marine market has generated greater opportunity for our company, and for our people,” said Takashi Futamura, Director Marine Division, for ASMC. “These changes will allow us to better take advantage of market opportunities as we continue to develop our dealer network, grow our boat builder business and introduce new and innovative outboard motors.”

The following personnel changes were announced:

  • George “Gus” Blakely is the new Manager, Sales Planning, for Suzuki Marine. In his new position, Blakely will be responsible for both dealer and OEM sales and marketing, as well as developing business with new dealers and boat builders to increase Suzuki Marine’s network of retail outlets. Blakely is a marine industry veteran and has been with Suzuki Marine for 21 years, most recently as manager of the Boat Builder Business Group.
  • Max Kelley was named the new Manager of the Boat Builder Business Group and will be responsible for national sales to the OEM market. Kelley has enjoyed consistent success since joining Suzuki Marine in 2002.
  • Todd Flores will take on sales responsibility as the Western Region District Sales Manager for the Boat Builder Business and will continue to assist the Dealer Operations Business Group.
  • David Greenwood was named Manager, OEM Sales Application Engineering and Product Quality. Greenwood, also an industry veteran, has been with Suzuki since 1986. Greenwood was originally hired as a Technical Service Manager and most recently served as Suzuki Marine’s Product Planning Manager. His efforts have been instrumental in the development of the company’s innovative line of four-stroke outboard motors.

“Everyone at Suzuki Marine can take pride in these announcements,” added Futamura. “Working together, we continue to build a successful future for our company, ourselves, our dealers and our business partners. Our commitment to building the best outboard motors and delivering unequalled customer satisfaction is reflected in the dedication and hard work of all our associates.”
